PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to maximize light incident efficiency by optimizing a structure of an LED housing. CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate(142) is located on a rear side of a liquid crystal display panel. An LED array(145) is located on a side of the light guide plate. An LED housing surrounds the LED array. A reflecting plate(143) is arranged on a rear side of the light guide plate. The thickness of the light guide plate is the same as or thinner than the thickness of the LED array.
