Hardenable, modified epoxy resins are obtained by reacting a polyepoxide with a 2- chloro - 4 - oxo - 5,6 - benzo - 1,3,2 - dioxaphosphorinine or a 2-chloro-2,4-dioxo-5,6-benzo- 1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinine at 0-80‹ C. The reaction may be performed in the presence of a monoepoxide and/or inert organic solvent. The products may be cured by heating at a temperature higher than 80‹ C. either alone or admixed with a polyepoxide and with or without the addition of conventional curing agents and accelerators. They are useful as coating, casting or moulding materials and are fireresistant. |
