If a vinyl substituted carboxylic acid CH 2 = CR 5 (A) n CO 2 H where R 5 is H or alkyl radical having 1-3 C atoms and A is an alkylene radical having 1-3 C atoms are used the product may be addition polymerized to give polymers with recurring units of the formula |
