<p>The device has a saw chain movably guided into a chain guide of a chain saw. The saw chain is driven by a chain drive, which is operated with pressurized air. A brake drum (28) is connected with the chain drive, and a triggered braking unit e.g. brake band (30), lever chain (34), brake lever (36) and safety bar bracket (38), is provided by friction for braking the brake drum. A pressurized air control unit i.e. interrupter valve (42), supports a braking process by the chain drive and causes direction inversion of pressurized air direction. An independent claim is also included for a method for braking a motor-operated chain saw.</p> |
