PURPOSE: A down-the-hole drill hammer having a sliding exhaust check valve is provided to prevent water and broken pieces from flowing into the drill hammer. CONSTITUTION: A down-the-hole drill hammer having a sliding exhaust check valve comprises a housing(12), a back head(14), and a tube-shaped sliding check valve assembly. The housing receives a part of the back head and a drill bit(15) therein. The back head has a supply port and an exhaust port. Working fluid is supplied into the back head through the supply port. The sliding check valve assembly is formed inside the housing to be adjacent to the back head and has a distributor, a sliding valve, and a biasing member. The biasing member is located between the sliding valve and the distributor and biases the sliding valve.
