摘要 A material or a method of applying a material comprises radar absorbing circuit analogue elements 62 suitable for application to the surface 46 of a component 32. The component 32 may be of a composite construction for a wind turbine, which may be a leading edge of a rotor blade, nacelle or nose cone. The material may comprise a flexible film 56 made of plastic or polymeric film of some sort. On the film 56 a regular pattern of circuit analogue elements 62 may be printed using conductive ink. The material may be secured to the surface 46 of an assembled composite component 32 by an adhesive layer 58 such that it covers any joint seams 64a with a continuous conducting circuit analogue pattern 62. Alternatively, the material may be directly printed on to the surface of the component 32. The pattern 62 may be on the inside or outside of the film 56, when it is applied to the surface 46 of a component 32. When the conductive pattern 62 is on the inside of the film 56, during application, the outer film may be a protective layer or serve as an appliqué which may be peeled away. A ground plane layer may be applied inside the component 32 and a further protective coating may be applied to the outside of the component, after the material has been applied.
