A method for treating a wastewater containing oxygen-containing compound having a phenolic hydroxyl group or a carbonyl group, which comprises the following steps:
First step: a step of adding an alkali agent to the wastewater containing the oxygen-containing compound having a phenolic hydroxyl group or a carbonyl group to control a pH of the wastewater to 10 or more; and
Second step: a step of separating a discharge in which the oxygen-containing compound having a phenolic hydroxyl group or a carbonyl group is concentrated through distillation of the wastewater to which the alkali agent has been added.
