<p>A clamp for securing first and second components is operable in a first configuration where relative rotation between said components is prevented, a second partially open configuration where said components are retained but relative rotation therebetween is enabled, and a third configuration where at least one of the components is released from the clamp. Stop means are moveable between a first disposition in which the clamp is limited to move between the first and second configurations and a second disposition wherein the clamp is moveable to the third configuration. A particular embodiment is a clamp for attaching a marine turbine to a tower, which comprises sectors 1-3 operated by a hydraulic piston 5 and cylinder 7 between positions in which the turbine cannot rotate to a position in which the turbine can be turned. When a lifting pin 12 is raised (e.g. by a remotely operated vehicle) stops are moved out of the path of plates 6, 8 allowing the clamp to open so that the turbine can be removed.</p> |
