A dual-chamber reservoir for a dual-circuit braking system has a fluid-level warning arrangement in each chamber and a device mounted above the partition between the chambers which prevents the passage of fluid from one chamber to another. In the Figure a partition 4 separates two chambers A, B, each containing a float 10 operating electric contacts to indicate low fluid level. Above the partition is a cap 13 and screen 14 so that air can pass freely from one chamber to the other between the screen 14 and the neck 11. Under these is an element 12 carrying two hollow arms 15, 16 to allow passage of fluid between the chambers to equalize the levels. If the vehicle stands on an inclined surface or if it is rapidly braked or accelerated, the fluid cannot pass from one chamber to another to give a false indication of low level in one chamber.</p> |
