DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING STEREOSCOPIC VIDEO

PURPOSE: A stereoscopic video transmitting device and a method thereof are provided to reduce a data size by down-sampling an input image before encoding and reduce a transmission data amount by template matching in consideration of features of the down-sampled image. CONSTITUTION: A converting unit(150) down-samples first and second input images. The converting unit couples the first and second input images after the down-sampling. An image with high resolution is converted into an image with low resolution by the down-sampling. An encoding unit(170) encodes a stereoscopic video image. A transmitting unit(190) transmits the encoded stereoscopic video image to a stereoscopic video receiving device.
