PURPOSE: An image pickup optical system is provided to implement a high resolution and reduce the size thereof. CONSTITUTION: An image pickup optical system includes a first lens(110), a second lens(120), a third lens(130), a fourth lens(140), and a fifth lens(150). The first lens has a positive refractive power and a convex side in an object side. The second lens has a positive refractive power and a convex side in an opposite side to the first lens. The third lens has a negative refractive power and a concave side in an opposite side to the second lens. The fourth lens has a positive refractive power and a convex side with a meniscus shape in an opposite side to the third lens. The fourth lens includes at least one aspherical surface. The fifth lens has a negative refractive power and a concave side in an opposite side to the fourth lens. The fifth lens has an aspherical side with an inflection point in an opposite side to the fourth lens.
