PURPOSE: A device and a method for inputting alphabet on a keypad are provided to combine a repeatedly pressed button with a specific button pressed for a long time, and to combine the specific button with a repeatedly pressed control button, thereby inputting various characters. CONSTITUTION: When processing vowels by sensing an inputting of 3 vowel buttons where random 3 vowels are assigned among the vowels of the Korean alphabet, a system recognizes an inputting of an appointed alphabet by first inputting a random one of the 3 vowel buttons and sensing a start state of a vowel processing operation(vowel combination). With regards to an inputting of a series of vowel buttons, the system recognizes the rest vowels through a series of appointed combinations from the start state of the vowel processing operation.
