Method for controlling a headlamp assembly

The method involves detecting a road user in a direction of light emission of a headlight arrangement. A position of a diaphragm arrangement is modified, when the road user is detected, in such a manner that a central region with a small light range is formed and surrounded by lateral regions with a larger light range, during the overall light distribution (LR) of the headlight arrangement in the direction of the detected road user. An independent claim is also included for a headlight arrangement for a vehicle.
