The device (10) has a protection cage positioned around an element i.e. exhaust gas recirculation flap (11), to protect the element during manipulation of an exhaust line of a motor vehicle. Two protection shells (15, 16) have ends that are articulated with respect to one another. A positioning ring (20) is positioned on a projecting portion of the element. Side wings (22) and reinforcements (23) are arranged at the level of inlet and outlet tubes (12, 13) of the element, respectively. |
