PURPOSE: A dot LED(Light Emitting Diode) image creation apparatus of a portable terminal and method thereof are provided to create dot LED image by automatically mapping the dot LED image at extracted edge image. CONSTITUTION: A key input unit(127) input number and character information. A camera unit(140) captures an image for creating a dot LED image. A display unit(160) displays the automatically created dot LED image. A control unit(110) extracts an edge image from the dot LED image. The control unit automatically maps the dot LED image at the extracted edge image. The control unit creates the dot LED image.
