In an hydraulic forming press having an expansible fluid pressure bag 66 located in a work-receiving cavity 52, a cylindrical body 12 defining the cavity 52 comprises inner and outer members 34, 32 with a chamber 36 therebetween adapted to receive fluid under pressure so as to promote uniform stress distribution in the outer body member 32. A work-supporting tray 20 has spring-biased rollers (not shown) riding on rails 56, 58. The side walls 78, 80 of the tray 20 carry rails 91, 93 engaging side rail members 86, 88 during operation of the press. A sealing ring (100) having side elements 102, 104 co-operates with a tough rubber lining 68 for the pressure bag 66. The bag 66 and chamber 36 are connectable to a common fluid pressure source (22). |
