In a process and apparatus for coating hot aggregate with bitumen the aggregate is delivered from a weigh-batcher 2 to a rotary batch heater 5 by a fixed shoot 3 and a tilting shoot 4; the latter discharges the heater into a mixer 8 where bituminous binder is added. Air from the heater passes into a casing 11 containing a particle collector in the form of a bank of cyclones, the collected particles being also fed to the mixer through a valve 15. A trunk 13 may connect to a secondary particle collector (not depicted) for fine dust which may include means for automatically weighing the particles with the mixer.</p> |
