PURPOSE: A terminal device having an initial consonant based voice search function and an operation method are provided to enhance the voice recognition rate with an initial consonant based voice search function. CONSTITUTION: A reference setting unit(110) forms a keypad board with Korean initial consonants. The reference setting unit sets a reference voice for each initial consonant. A voice recognizing unit(120) recognizes an initial consonant from a user voice based on the reference voice. A data searching unit(130) searches a word with a corresponding initial consonant based on the recognized initial consonant. |
