PURPOSE: A pallet conveying apparatus and method are provided to transfer pallets by coupling the pallets to belts running like an endless track. CONSTITUTION: A pallet conveying apparatus(10) comprises one or more pallets(11) in which works are loaded, first and second rails(12,13) in which the pallets are mounted, first and second pallet conveying mechanisms(26,28) which transfer the pallets on the rails, and a pallet moving device(20) which transports the pallets from the first/second pallet rail to the second/first pallet rail. The pallet moving device comprises first and second moving units(12b,13c) which form parts of the first and second pallet rails. The first and second pallet conveying mechanisms include first and second belts(27,29) which are coupled to the pallets and run like an endless track.
