Provided are cellobiohydrolase sequences and their variants, which can be used in expression vectors and transgenic organisms to manipulate cellulose metabolism. Further provided are corresponding antisense and RNAi oligonucleotides for inhibiting the translation of a cellulase message in cells and various other cellulose related food and fibre industry applications.
