NEW METHOD FOR PRODUCING IMATINIB BASE

PURPOSE: A novel method for preparing imatinib base is provided to obtain a large amount of imatinib base through simple purification. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing imatinib base comprises: a step of dissolving 2,2'-dibenzothiazolyl disulfide of chemical formula 5 with 4-[(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)methyl]benzoic acid compounds of chemical formula 2 in toluene under the presence of triphenyl phosphine of chemical formula 6; a step of reacting at 0°C-70°C to prepare thio ester compounds of chemical formula 4; a step of dissolving the thio ester compounds in toluene; a step of adding N-(5-amino-2-methylphenyl)-4-(3-pyridyl)-2pyridine amine of chemical formula 3; and a step of reacting at 10°C-120°C.
