The invention relates to a method for controlling an electrically actuated hydraulic valve, a control flow in the hydraulic valve being modulated to reduce unwanted hysteresis during operation of the hydraulic valve. The invention is characterized in that an expected flow-pressure characteristic curve is compared with a measured flow-pressure characteristic curve to identify unwanted hysteresis.
