The present invention relates to a fuel injection pump including a variable pressure compartment which has a simpler constitution and lower manufacturing cost than typical fuel injection pumps without using a separate barrel-moving device and without modifying the shape of the plunger, and which controls fuel injection timing according to engine loads. The fuel injection pump including the variable pressure compartment further includes a pressure adjustment member that includes: a tight contact plug the lower end of which is inserted in an upper cover; a cylinder, the lower end of which is inserted into the tight contact plug and which includes the variable pressure compartment therein; a main hole for pressurizing fuel disposed on the upper cover and a barrel for connecting the variable pressure compartment and the plunger insertion hole of the barrel to each other; a piston sliding vertically within the variable pressure compartment; and a height-adjustable part for manually adjusting pressure, which is disposed at the upper end of the cylinder so as to elastically support the upper end of the piston.
