The manifold (1) has an intake (3) introducing exhaust gas from a cylinder of a combustion engine. An outlet (9) delivers the exhaust gas to an exhaust line. A closed flow channel (10) is provided between the intake and the outlet for guiding the exhaust gas. A sound proofing rib is provided at an outer side of the channel. Surrounding component walls are firmly connected with the channel in an indirect or direct manner by the rib. The rib is selectively welded at the component walls. An air gap is partially provided between an exhaust gas passage element (2) and an outer housing (4).
