<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blind cylindrical cap that includes a non-cylindrical part whose cross sectional shape is not a true circle above a cylindrical attaching/detaching ring having a screw or a fitting part which is attached to/detached from a container, and can be accurately positioned in printing or the like, and a method for positioning the cap. <P>SOLUTION: In the cap 10, a rib for positioning 19 is provided at an inside step 16. By inserting a positioning member having a corresponding shape in a shaft direction, the cap is finely adjusted in position by a guide surface 20 and positioned.
