<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna that ensures satisfactory characteristics in two discrete frequency bands. <P>SOLUTION: In the antenna having a core side element including a core side feeding point and a ground side element including a ground side feeding point, the ground side element is arranged so as to be capacitively coupled to a grounded metal flange, the core side element includes a first vertical filament extending from the core side feeding point in a vertical direction away from the metal flange and a U-shaped filament connected to a tip end of the first vertical filament, a total filament length from the core side feeding point to one end of an opening of the U-shaped filament is adjusted substantially to αλ/4 and substantially to (2n+1)αλ'/4 (n is an integer of 0 or greater), and a total filament length from the core side feeding point to the other end of the opening of the U-shaped filament is substantially αλ/6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
