<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high reliability and high performance safety, and also facilitate design and maintenance by simplifying a structure. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic safety elevator has safety controllers (microcomputer (A) 50, microcomputer (B) 60) for determining abnormal conditions using sensors (41-43) to detect an operation condition of an elevator as input information, and for generating an instruction signal for shifting a car 1 to a safe condition.
