<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device capable of transporting a recording material between nip sections while the recording material contacts with a flexible member with a transportation speed of the recording material by the nip section at a downstream side in a record material transport direction slower than the transportation speed of the recording material by the nip section at an upstream side in the record material transport direction. <P>SOLUTION: A supporting member 5 continuously contacts with a flexible member 1 so that the supporting member 5 does not enter into a side of a first pressure member 3 and a second pressure member 4 beyond a straight line L1 connecting a downstream side edge section b in a recording material transport direction of a first nip section N1 at an upstream side in the recording material transport direction and an upstream side edge section c in the recording material transport direction of a second nip section N2 at a downstream side in the record material transport direction between the downstream side edge section b in the recording material transport direction of the first nip section N1 at the upstream side in the recording material transport direction and the upstream side edge section c in the recording material transport direction of the second nip section N2 at the downstream side in the record material transport direction.
