<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector having a lock arm formed like a cantilever, where risks of plastic deformation and breakage of the lock arm are reduced and the reliability of connector fitting is improved. <P>SOLUTION: The optical connector has a lock arm 12 which is provided like a cantilever on an outer periphery of a connector housing and is locked to a counterpart connector while being elastically deformed downward with a base end thereof as a supporting point when the optical connector is fitted to the counterpart connector. The optical connector includes a first housing member provided with the lock arm 12 and a second housing member attached to the first housing member from the free end side of the lock arm 12. Control projections 123 projecting outward from side surfaces of the lock arm 12 in a breadthwise direction are formed on the lock arm 12, and projection retaining parts 222 located above the control projections 123 are formed on the second housing member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
