PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a damage to a housing member without entanglement with a fishing line and to control the displacement of the housing member in the transverse direction in a double bearing reel having the housing member. SOLUTION: The reel body 1 of a double bearing reel has an upper part to which a counter housing 4 is fixed. The upper part of the reel body 1 has connection parts 1a and 1b to which the counter housing 4 is connected. A part of the connection parts 1a and 1b is exposed from the front faces and the side faces of the reel body 1 and the counter housing 4 outward. The counter housing 4 is equipped with corner parts 4a and 4b with roundness at parts including three faces of the top face of both right and left ends of the front side, the front face and the side face. A cover member 50 is attached to the reel body 1 and the counter housing 4 so as to cover the connection parts 1a and 1b of the reel body 1 and the corner parts 4a and 4b of the counter housing 4.
