<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue to operate even if a data transfer control unit for transferring data fails while accelerating speed of data transfer between an upper level device and a printing device. <P>SOLUTION: The printing device includes: a plurality of data transfer control units which store image data transferred from the upper level device in a storage unit; a plurality of output control units which are provided correspondingly to the data transfer control units and controls printing of the image data stored by a specified one of the data transfer control units; and a print control unit that, when abnormality has occurred in any of the data transfer control units, transmits a transfer instruction on the image data to be transferred by the data transfer control unit being at fault, to an alternate data transfer control unit among the data transfer control units in which no abnormality has occurred, and instructs the output control unit corresponding to the data transfer control unit being at fault to print the image data stored by the data transfer control unit being not at fault. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
