<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a PVA-based polymeric film, excellent in the film's releasability off film-forming equipment such as metallic rolls and belts in making a film formation of the objective film, and enabling high-quality optical film of low haze to be obtained as liquid droplets occurrence in the objective film obtained can be suppressed, and to provide the PVA-based polymeric film which can be produced by the above method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a PVA-based polymeric film includes the step of making a casting film formation using film-forming dope containing a PVA-based polymer; wherein, the plasticizer content of the dope is 6 pts.mass or less based on 100 pts.mass of the PVA-based polymer, and the dope also contains an ammonium alkylbenzene sulfonate.
