<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve practicality of a steering system. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle steering system 10 includes: an operation shaft 36 in which an operation member 34 for performing a steering operation of a vehicle is connected with one end; an output shaft 76; a rotation transmission mechanism between shafts to rotate the output shaft according to the rotation of the operation shaft; a steering shaft 32 for steering wheels according to own rotation; and a clutch 160 for achieving rotation transmission between the output shaft and the steering shaft. Further, the system includes a holder, which is held in a vehicle body while allowing the turning around the turning axis line extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and which holds the operation shaft, the output shaft and the rotation transmission mechanism between the shafts, while being rotatable around the rotation axis line where the output shaft is coincident with the turning axis line, and while being rotatable around the rotation axis line extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle by the shifting of the operation shaft from the turning axis line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
