<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior appearance inspection method that reliably detects defects without overlooking ones in a short time with a simple device and processing, and an exterior appearance inspection device. <P>SOLUTION: An exterior appearance inspection method includes the following steps of: placing a mark on a defect portion of an object to be inspected 1 formed of a casting by infiltrating a fluorescence agent; then attaching the object to be inspected 1 to a work piece rotation device 20 to be subjected to continuous rotation; irradiating the object to be inspected 1 with UV light from UV light irradiation devices 41 to 46; capturing an image of the object to be inspected 1 by image pickup devices 31 to 33; obtaining image data of fluorescent light emission image that has recorded the emission from the defect portion as a trajectory of the rotational movement of the object to be inspected 1; and carrying out image processing of the image data to inspect the defect portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
