<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of securing the smooth movement of a support yoke and suppressing the occurrence of noise while reducing the sense of getting stuck. <P>SOLUTION: A rack guide mechanism 29 includes the support yoke 31 stored movably in the directions of approaching and separating from a rack shaft 5 in a storage section 35 formed in a rack housing. The support yoke 31 is pressed by a coiled spring 42 to support the rack shaft 5 movably in the axial direction while pressing against a pinion shaft. The support yoke 31 includes a guide part 51 in slidable contact with the rack shaft 5 and a pedestal part 52 pressed by the coiled spring 42.
