The circuit (10) has a driver unit whose driving transistors (34, 35) i.e. n-channel MOSFETS, comprise a control terminal (G) and two terminals for respective load paths. A pre-driver (28) drives the control terminal of one of the transistors. A capacitor (32) is connected between an output terminal (Mot-U) of the circuit and a supply terminal (VB) of the pre-driver, where the output terminal is connected to a winding of an electric motor. A control circuit generates a switching pulse for another transistor when the latter transistor is turned off for a predetermined time period. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an assembly of a motor control circuit and a synchronous motor (2) a method for operating an electric motor with a motor control circuit.
