<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily clean the inside of a first conveyor in an article converting and conveying apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The article converting and conveying apparatus 10 converts a conveying direction from a first direction to a second direction perpendicular to the first direction to convey an article. The article converting and conveying apparatus 10 has a first conveyor 12 and a second conveyor 14. The first conveyor 12 has a first conveying part 30 and a first rotation support part 32. The first conveying part 30 has a first conveying plane 30a which is disposed along the first direction and can convey the article. The first rotation support part 32 supports an edge on the second direction side of the first conveying part 30 rotatably around an axis along the first direction. The second conveyor 14 has a second conveying part 40 and a lift drive part 42. The second conveying part 40 has a second conveying plane 40a which can ascend and descend with respect to the first conveying plane 30a.
