<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitance switch that can eliminate the effect of noise to increase the detection sensitivity and reliability. <P>SOLUTION: A capacitance switch comprises: a detection electrode approached or contacted by a detected object; a voltage regulator for generating a voltage signal having a predetermined voltage and outputting it; a voltage application controller for generating a predetermined detection electrode voltage signal by the voltage regulator and applying it to the detection electrode in a detection mode to detect approach or contact of the detected object on the basis of the voltage output from the voltage regulator; and a state determination section for determining whether the detected object has approached or contacted the electrode on the basis of a capacitance created between the detection electrode and the detected object with the object approaching or contacting the electrode. Further, the voltage application controller shifts the mode to a standby mode in which, when a capacitance created between the detection electrode and the object to be detected is lower than a predetermined capacitance threshold, a standby voltage signal different from the detection electrode voltage signal is generated and applied to the detection electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
