<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an engagement mechanism that prevents an engagement mechanism, having a cam mechanism, from being erroneously engaged when it is in a disengaged state. <P>SOLUTION: The control device for an engagement mechanism is configured to predict erroneous engagement, occurring due to contact of a second cam member 36 with a friction part 42 when an engagement mechanism 30 is in a disengaged state, on the basis of angular acceleration input to a first cam member 35 or angular acceleration in a direction of the axis Ax.
