<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cell resistant to poisoning by carbon dioxide in air that reacts with KOH, an electrolyte in electrolytic solution, to produce potassium hydrogen carbonate (KHCO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>) or potassium carbonate(K<SB POS="POST">2</SB>CO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>) which causes decrease in ion conductivity of the electrolytic solution and cell performance, and deposits potassium hydrogen carbonate (KHCO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>) or potassium carbonate(K<SB POS="POST">2</SB>CO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>)on the surface of a positive electrode catalyst, blocking reductive reaction of oxygen and causing decrease in the cell performance. <P>SOLUTION: An air cell comprises: a body having a positive electrode catalyst and a negative electrode in a housing member; an electrolytic solution; a tank for the electrolytic solution; a pump for circulating the electrolytic solution; an oxygen intake located in the middle of the circulation of the electrolytic solution; and a pipe coupling between the body, the tank, the pump and the oxygen intake.
