<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device and a projection display device in which a seal material arranged between a first substrate and second substrate is surely cured by light radiation from the second substrate even when a light-shielding layer supporting a prescribed function is prepared, and the light-shielding layer exhibits a satisfactory function. <P>SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal device 100, a seal material 107 is formed in an outer area from a pixel area 10a of a first substrate 10. In a second substrate 20, a light-shielding layer 108 functioning as a break line is arranged in an area sandwiched between the seal material 107 and the pixel area 10a. A light-shielding intra-seal sign 19 is arranged in an area overlapping the seal material 107, and in particular this intra-seal sign 19 is arranged at the first substrate 10 side. In the second substrate 20, a light-shielding sign is arranged for indicating an attribute of the product name of the liquid crystal device 100 and the like, and in particular this light-shielding sign is arranged as an intra-light-shielding layer sign 29 with a light-shielding film 106 in an area where the light-shielding layer 108 is formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
