<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slotless type optical cable allowing a coated optical fiber to be easily ejected and preventing an exterior covering and a tension member, such as a steel wire, from displacing during laying operation. <P>SOLUTION: A slotless type optical cable 1 comprises a plurality of coated optical fibers, a protective layer 3 provided around the plurality of coated optical fibers, an exterior covering 4 for covering periphery of the protective layer 3, and a tension member 5.
