Provided is a production method for nitrile represented by general formula (2), the method being characterized in that oxime represented by general formula (1) is subject to dehydration reaction under the presence of hydrotalcite. This method can produce nitrile industrially advantageously in high yield and high selectivity without discharging large amounts of waste by performing dehydration reaction under mild conditions.
