<p>A structure for the mounting and lubrication of a diesel engine camshaft comprises an engine body (1), a crankcase cover (2), a camshaft (3), a cylinder body (4), a camshaft gear (5), a cylinder head cover (6) and a cylinder head (7).The bearing journals (3a, 3b) at either end of the camshaft are directly supported in camshaft bearing holes (1a, 2a) in the engine body and crankcase cover; a lubricant filler hole (6a) on the cylinder head cover communicates with a cylinder head lubricant inlet passage (7a); the cylinder head lubricant inlet passage (7a) communicates with an engine body lubricant inlet passage (1d) by means of a pushrod guide (8). The bearing journals (3a, 3b) at either end of the camshaft are lubricated by means of lubricant grooves (1b, 2b) and lubricant ducts (1c, 2c) provided in the camshaft bearing holes for feeding lubricant from the crankcase. The structure simplifies the mounting of parts and reduces costs.</p> |
