PURPOSE: A rectangular battery which comprises a can made of electric insulating material is provided to ensure high insulation without using a pack case and package label. CONSTITUTION: A rectangular battery (100) comprises a rectangular can (200) in which electrolyte is sealed with an electrode assembly of anode/separation membrane/cathode. The can comprises electric insulating plastic of high strength or a polymer composite resin of high strength. The polymer composite resin of high strength is a complex comprising a reinforcing material in a polymer base of electric insulation.
