<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately perform specification of the cause of a load abnormality occurring in a driving source of an intermediate transfer belt and a secondary transfer roller. <P>SOLUTION: A load abnormality detection apparatus detects a load abnormality of first and/or second rotational members. First and second control elements are acquired from the apparatus and change inclination of the second control element is calculated. The first control element is compared with a first threshold value, and also the first control element is compared with a second threshold value which is larger than the first threshold value. The change inclination of the second control element is compared with a third threshold value which is a negative value, and also the change inclination of the second control element is compared with zero. Also, the change inclination of the second control element is compared with a fourth threshold value which is a positive value. Based on a first comparison result and a second comparison result, the load abnormality of the first and/or second rotational members is detected as well as the cause of the load abnormality is specified. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
