The present invention relates to a harvester comprising a frame (1) supporting at least one harvesting mechanism (10) and a device for lightening (22) said harvesting mechanism. The invention is characterised in that the lightening device (22) consists of second hydraulic cylinders (23) which are pivotably connected to the frame (1) and to the harvesting mechanism (10) and which are connected, via hydraulic circuits (24), to first hydraulic cylinders (7) such as to be actuatable by the latter and to hydropneumatic accumulators (25).
