The rotor (3) has an air-gap surface whose radial distance (11) from a rotational axis (13) is variable. The surface of the rotor mounted in a stator (5) exhibits an axial curvature varying from a curvature of an unassembled rotor. The surface forms an embossed conical- and/or bell-shaped form in a non-assembled condition. Magnetic forces are induced by permanent magnets. The curvature of the rotor is adapted to a curvature of the stator and is concave with respect to a position of the stator. Distance to the rotational axis in a narrow area is smaller than distance in end areas. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a stator for a permanently-excited machine (2) a permanently-excited electrical machine including a stator and a rotor.
