<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extremely thin light diffusion film which has excellent light diffusion properties, suppresses back scattering, and which is additionally excellent in productivity. <P>SOLUTION: An inventive light diffusion film has: a first region having a first refractive index; a substantially spherical shell-shaped refractive index modulation region which surrounds the first region; and a second region having a second refractive index and positioned on the opposite side of the refractive index modulation region from the first region. This light diffusion film has a light diffusion half-value angle of 30° or more and a thickness of 4 μm to 25 μm, and satisfies formulas (1) and (2): y≤0.011x(30≤x≤60)...(1); y≤0.0275x-0.99(60<x)...(2), where x is light diffusion half-value angle (°), y is back scattering ratio (%), and the formulas (1) and (2) express the relationship between the numeric value of light diffusion half-value angle and the numeric value of back scattering ratio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
