<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal compressor that can bear a high temperature of air at an outlet of an impeller. <P>SOLUTION: A centrifugal compressor 1 includes a sealing mechanism having a plurality of fins 3a and 3b arranged circularly in layers in a back surface of an impeller 3 multiply circularly, and a labyrinth packing 5 arranged at a position opposing to the fins 3a and 3b, and the sealing mechanism seals between an outlet of the impeller 3 and a space formed on a back part of the impeller 3. The labyrinth packing 5 is formed with an annular space 12 for supplying cool air with a higher pressure than a pressure at the back part of the impeller 3, and the centrifugal compressor 1 is configured to flow the cool air from the annular space 12 toward the back surface of the impeller 3. The annular space 12 is provided so that the cool air forms a flow along a plane parallel to the back surface of the impeller 3, the flow being parallel tangentially to an outer circumferential edge of the impeller 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
